VOLUNTEER SIGN-UPS ARE LIVE!

Volunteers are integral to The Princess Project’s success in making prom a reality for High School Teens. Year after year, we witness first-hand how one person can influence hundreds of lives. In collaboration with The Princess Project, thousands of volunteers over the past 20 years have enriched prom experiences for more than 50,000+ teens in the Bay Area.

As a 100% volunteer-run effort, we rely on the kindness and dedication of individuals like you and welcome your assistance! Your generosity has allowed our organization to continue to provide over 20 years of FREE prom, homecoming, and graduation dresses to High School teens in the Bay Area.

New for 2025: We have a new volunteer platform where you can volunteer for multiple shifts after completing the waiver. If you have already completed the 2025 waiver and just need to add shifts, email Rebecca Flores at: Rebecca@princessproject.org Otherwise, you will need to complete the waiver again.

Volunteer Frequently Asked Questions

LOCATION: 3190 S. Bascom Ave, Suite 105, San Jose. Look for our suite #105, as soon as you enter the driveway. We are the first door on the left.

WHO CAN VOLUNTEER AT PPSV? We invite all women, ages 18 and older AND out of high school to volunteer as a personal shopper during dress giveaway. If you’re in high school and would like to participate in The Princess Project as a volunteer, we welcome your support during our set-up or tear-down times.

HOW DO I VOLUNTEER? Click the above link!

WHAT DO I WEAR? Most importantly…comfortable shoes and casual attire, as you will be on the move! You will be given a PPSV apron to wear. Temperatures may vary depending on our location. Please plan accordingly.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING? IS THERE A PLACE TO PUT MY STUFF? You are welcome to bring bottled water, but please keep in mind there is no food or drinks (except water) allowed on the floor to prevent any damages to the dresses. Try to keep your belongings limited to what you can put in your pockets or purse as we do not have a secure place for personal belongings.

HOW WILL I KNOW WHAT TO DO? There will be a volunteer shift leader who will give you instructions at the beginning of your shift. There are quite a few different options for volunteers. All fairy godmother/personal shopper volunteers will have an opportunity to interact with our teen guests.

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE? Plan to arrive on time for your shift to allow time for check-in, volunteer orientation, and questions.

WHERE DO I PARK? Our current location for 2025 has free on-site parking. Please be respectful of our business neighbors.

CAN I TAKE PHOTOS? We have a beautiful, designated photo-op spaces set up at the site where we encourage photos. No photos are permitted in the dressing rooms, and we ask that volunteers DO NOT take photos of our teen guests.

WHERE DO I CHECK IN? At the front desk upon entering the space.

WHAT WILL I BE ASKED TO DO AS A VOLUNTEER? There are quite a few different options for volunteers. Plan to be on your feet for the entire shift. There are some lifting and carrying responsibilities. All fairy godmother/personal shopper volunteers will have an opportunity to interact with our teen guests. If you need an accommodation for any reason, please speak to a Princess Project Lead at the site.

WHAT IF I HAVE ITEMS TO DONATE? Donations are accepted any time that we are open.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD KNOW AS A VOLUNTEER? We ask that you remember that this event is ALL ABOUT the teens we serve! Smile, be polite, be encouraging, and be supportive. It is not our role to judge on any level - dress color, style, fit - but you may suggest!

CORPORATE OR OTHER VOLUNTEER GROUPS: If you are a company or philanthropy lead, with a group that would like to volunteer during the week or an alternate day, please email Gabby Munoz at Gabby.Munoz@PrincessProject.org.
